ELEMENT OF FIRE
The sacred element of Fire carries the power of transformation. It is often seen as a destructive element, being associated with the call and roar of battle, or the burning of buildings, land or even worse, the suffering of people. Yet within its destructive power lies tremendous creativity and vitality. It purifies nature in its burning, and within the body the heat of fire cleanses and heals. Its source is our extraordinary sun. Its offspring our Earth’s core, and the lava of our planet’s volcanoes. It is an element of passion, sexuality, purpose and new beginnings. It gives life and meaning to the beacon, the lantern, the torch. Think of the glow of a fire that calls a community together… to feel its warmth and to stare deeply into its dance of light. And above all, Fire can represent that which can never be dimmed: Hope.

ELEMENT OF EARTH
The sacred element of Earth is what we are made from. We literally embody the earth. Through this performance we explore earth in all its aspects. We celebrate her in steadiness and quake. We are nourished by her grounded and sustaining presence. It is in the earth that the seeds are planted – deep in the warm, moist darkness. Let us celebrate by laying our bellies on the earth, stamping our feet, dancing to beat of the drum. Let our celebration provide the stable foundation for our growth. Allow the spiral of sacred energy to travel through you, inspire you and propel you forward.

ELEMENT OF WATER
The Element of Water. Its flow and its graceful movement, its power, persistence and abundance. Water is a primary building block of life. Without water there is no life, yet water has the power to destroy as well as to create. We are at the mercy of water.
Water is sacred in many faiths. Holy places are usually located on the banks of rivers, coasts, seashores or in the misty mountains. In Hinduism there are many sacred rivers, like the Ganges. Water is often associated with Taoism as water represents flowing with the path of least resistance yet also powerful and persistent enough to carve many of the faces of our planet. Other faiths in many ceremonies from Baptism to Funeral blessings, dedications, exorcisms and burials use water to cleanse and purify. This relates to both physical cleanliness of objects or person. Water can be used to make a person clean, externally or spiritually, symbolically representing the readiness to come into the presence of his/her focus of worship.
From ice to liquid, from mist, to steam and clouds, water can inhabit many forms. It is found in the dark depths of wells and caves. Between the rocky crust of this water planet, and inside the cells of our human bodies. Puddles swell into ponds, brooks into streams into rivers, and mouths of water open into seas and oceans.
Vibrant echoes spring from watery seeds to a yellow heart
Sensitive blood breaths and sways holding cosmic wisdom and protecting secrets of life
While destructive forces preserve and guard through stormy flares of anger; the violent cleansing rage
Harsh rain drops to unifying waters as we hold our head above the waves
Listening through oceans within us, new expression is born
Floating over moonlit shores, blue swells radiate calming silence
Sinking to the depths of quietness, peaceful stillness radiates
Nicole van Zomeren
Steward of the Water ElementNicole van Zomeren has been dancing since the age of six, and was coaching dancing teams and solos from the age of 14. She went on to study Sports Massage, which became the foundation of many years or training in related fields and setting her up in her first business partnership. In 2005 she left her home country, Australia to travel for a year, but she was drawn to stay in London and has been here pretty much ever since. In 2009 Nicole set up her own business where she is dedicated to assisting people bringing a greater balance to their bodies through Massage, Reiki and Yoga, to name a few. However when the idea for Elementus arose, her passion to be back dancing on stage was rekindled after many years. Her journey on the One Spirit Interfaith Foundation is supporting her to integrate spiritual counselling and ceremony into her practise and other aspects of her life. Her vision is to build on Elementus as an artistic platform for more collaborative performances.

ELEMENT OF AIR
The sacred element of Air is here, and there, and everywhere. It twirls and sighs, rages and flies. Sometimes like a summer breeze that caresses the skin, and other times like an autumn storm that picks up leaves in a whirlwind… Sometimes it’s the sound of leaves moving, and other times it’s the smell of nature – or good cooking – carried on the breeze. Air is a messenger, and sometimes a saviour… Imagine the face of someone who has been stuck in water or under earth or in flames, and comes out gasping, gulping down precious air into starved lungs. Air is generous, and carefree too. When things are too heavy, it just moves on, or round, or through. Sometimes it delights itself with a hurricane that shakes and shudders everything in its way too – just because it can. It is between all the spaces, invisible, not needing to be seen – because it sees all on its own travels. It is the first cry of a baby and it is the last rattling sigh of death.
With Earth, Air makes sandstorms, carrying Earth to places beyond its wildest imagination. With Fire, it makes flames rise, generously offering itself in sacrifice. With Water, it makes waves and rainstorms, feeding crops or flooding plains alike. With Ether, it makes for the outer reaches of the atmosphere where the dominions of Earth and Space intermingle, at the very edge of the breath.

He also happened to do three years of medical training, before finding the walls of NHS hospitals a bit too confining. He does quite a bit of travelling, in space and time, and likes to share his experiences at www.MarcusTravels.net with those willing to read them. When not off-the-map, he is based in London, exploring past life regressions and human energy fields with clients in his private practice. Marcus was born in Denmark, but increasingly, anywhere he goes can feel like home, except if there are too many mosquitoes. He aspires to become an intergalactic emissary, at some point in a future lifetime.
